Helious Pro at $199 a Year: What Market News Costs in 2026
A trader pays for market news in one of two ways: a lot of money for a voice in the ear, or nothing at all and a lot of tabs. Helious Pro has sat between those at $39.99 a month since launch. There is currently a yearly price of $199, which is $280 a year less than paying monthly. Here is what that buys, what the alternatives cost for the same year, and where each of them is still the better choice.
1. What does Helious Pro cost?
Pro is $39.99 a month, or $360 a year at the list price. Paid monthly, a year of Pro is $479.88.
Right now there is a yearly offer. With the code ANNUAL199, the year is $199 instead of $360. The code is applied for you when you open Pro yearly from this link, or you can type it at checkout. The current price is always the one shown on helious.io/pricing, which reads it from the same place the checkout does.
2. How much does the yearly offer save?
Against paying monthly, $280 a year. Twelve months at $39.99 is $479.88. The year is $199. The difference is $280.88, which we round down.
Against the yearly list price, $161. The list price is $360 and stays $360. The offer is a code on top of it.
3. Does the price go back up when the year renews?
No. The $199 renews at $199 for as long as you keep the subscription. It is not a first year price. If you cancel, you lose the rate, and a new subscription later is at whatever the deal is then.
You can cancel any time from Account, then Subscription, inside the terminal. Your account drops back to the free plan rather than being switched off, so anything you built on the API keeps running, an hour behind.
4. What do you get for $199?
Everything in Pro, for a year.
- Every market price live. Treasuries, the curve, index futures, FX and commodities, the second they move.
- The terminal, with the live news feed, alerts and watchlists, and every US economic release scored the second it prints, in standard deviations of surprise.
- The live squawk. Central bank press conferences and key speakers, read out as they happen.
- Treasury auction results within seconds, with the tail, the bid to cover and the bidder split.
- Ask Helious, 30 credits a month. Ask in plain words why ES, NQ or Treasuries just moved.
- Two years of history, with API and MCP access included, so the same numbers are there for your own code or an AI agent.
The live feed, the economic calendar and the auction results are open to read without an account, an hour behind, if you want to see the shape of it first.
5. What does a year of the alternatives cost?
These are the vendors' own list prices. Newsquawk and Live Squawk were checked on their pricing pages on 19 October 2026. The others are as published in August 2026, or as widely reported where the vendor does not show a price to a visitor. They change, so check the vendor before you decide.
- Newsquawk is $199 a month for the Basic plan, which is one squawk channel, and $399 a month for Pro. That is $2,388 to $4,788 a year paid monthly.
- Live Squawk is $350 a month, or $3,850 paid yearly.
- Trade The News does not show prices on its site. In August 2026 its audio tiers were about $185 a month for macro and FX and about $350 for equities, roughly $2,220 to $4,200 a year.
- Benzinga Pro was about $99 to $197 a month for the tier that includes the squawk, about $1,188 to $2,364 a year. The entry tier was about $27 a month and has no squawk.
- A Bloomberg Terminal is widely reported at about $2,665 a month per seat, about $31,980 a year, usually on a two year contract. Bloomberg does not publish a price.
- Financial Juice has a free squawk and calendar on a delay, and a paid plan that removes the delay.
Helious Pro is $199 for the year with the current offer, $360 at list, or $479.88 paid monthly. Each of the six comparisons above has its own page on helious.io/compare, with the full side by side.
6. Is the difference just that squawks are expensive?
Partly. A professional squawk is sold to desks, and a desk expenses it. The price is set for that buyer.
The bigger difference is what the money covers. A squawk subscription is audio. The calendar, the written feed, the data history and somewhere to see the market's reaction are all still your job, and for most traders that means two or three more tabs or another paid service. Helious puts the squawk and all of those on one screen, which is why the comparison is a year of the whole workflow against a year of one part of it.
7. Where do the alternatives win?
They do, in places, and the comparison pages say so.
- Newsquawk and Trade The News cover a wider, institutional tape. If you run a multi-asset book across regions, Helious is a US macro product and does not match that breadth.
- Live Squawk and Newsquawk are a human voice with a long record on professional floors. Some traders want exactly that and nothing else.
- Benzinga Pro is built for single stock catalysts, scanners and options newsflow. Helious does not do that job.
- Bloomberg is the best tool in the industry for cross asset analytics, messaging and execution. Nothing at $199 replaces it, and we do not claim to.
- Financial Juice is free. If a delayed squawk and a calendar are all you need, it costs nothing.
Pick the one that does your job. If your job is trading US rates, futures or equities around the data, the rest of this post is for you.
8. Is there a way to try it before paying for a year?
Two.
The free plan is not a trial. Every feed, the calendar, the data and the API answer with real numbers, an hour behind and with no history. No card is needed.
The monthly plan has a 7 day free trial. You save a card, which takes a $1 card check that is refunded straight away, and the first charge of $39.99 lands on day 7 unless you cancel before then. It runs on the monthly plan, not the yearly one, so you can look at the live screen for a week and then decide between $39.99 a month and $199 for the year.
9. Who should pay monthly instead?
Anyone who is not sure yet. $39.99 a month with no commitment is the right answer for a trader who wants to run Helious beside what they use now for a month or two and see how much of the overlap is real. The yearly offer is for the trader who already knows the screen is staying open. Over a year, that decision is worth $280.
10. So is Helious the cheapest way to get professional market news?
Of the five services with a known price compared here, yes, by a wide margin per year: $199 with the current offer against $1,188 at the low end and $31,980 at the top. Financial Juice's live plan is priced on its own site, and its delayed plan is free. If a delayed squawk is enough, take it.
What you are paying $199 for is the part the free stack does not do: the number scored the second it prints, the auction read in seconds, the squawk live rather than delayed, the price reaction beside the headline, and the history behind it, on one screen. If that is the job, the yearly price is on helious.io/pricing, and the code is ANNUAL199.
